For some study programmes extra software is needed, which is also included in the extra study costs. This software package includes Microsoft Office (via Microsoft Campus Agreement from Howest), Microsoft Visual Studio and other developer tools (Imagine (Dreamspark) via Microsoft Campus Agreement from Howest), Mathematica, E4Progress Office training, HogeschoolTaal NL and UK (Plantyn), Digital Word Trainer (Die Keure), Siemens NX, McAfee Antivirus, Alinea in the cloud (Sensotec), Linkedin Learning, Digital Workbook (Explio).

Because of group purchasing, we can keep the price down. This initiative is always open to other Flemish Universities of Applied Sciences so that bundled larger volumes lead to lower pricing. Moreover, to prevent you from downloading illegal software on your laptop, accidentally or otherwise, Howest has chosen to compose a software package for each study programme and to make it available to everyone at a student-friendly price through a group purchase.
